How does the template calculate payroll?

Gross earnings = basic + housing + transport + other allowances.

GOSI-liable wage = basic + housing, capped at 45,000 SAR a month.

GOSI deduction = liable wage × the employee's rate for their category (e.g. 10.75% for a Saudi registered after 3 July 2024, from July 2026; 9.75% for one registered before; 0% for non-Saudis).

Absence deduction = (gross ÷ 30) × days absent.

Net salary = gross − absence deduction − advances − GOSI deduction.
Worked example
Saudi employee (new system): basic 8,000 + housing 2,000 + transport 800 = 10,800 SAR. GOSI-liable wage 10,000, deduction 1,075, net 9,725 SAR. The employer's share is 1,275 SAR.

What is the difference between a payroll sheet and a payslip?+
A payroll sheet is a monthly register of every employee's pay, deductions and net amount that the business uses to pay salaries. A payslip details one employee's pay and is given to that employee.
Does the template produce a WPS file?+
No. The template only calculates salaries. Mosyr produces the bank-format WPS file automatically.
Does the template calculate end of service?+
No, it is for monthly payroll only. Mosyr calculates end of service under the labor law. See the labor law guide.
